The Order of Pen (TOOP) collaborated with Peshawar Circle on the 12th of this month (August). It was a mellow Saturday and the collaboration was centered around a book discussion, much like the previous event. The name of the book in discussion was: ”India Wins Freedom”, penned by Maulana Azad. The guest speaker was Dr. Syed Hanif Rasool Kakakhel.
Dr. Syed Hanif is serving as Assistant Professor and Head of The Department of English at Khushal Khan Khattak University, Karak. His comprehension of the postulates that were to be discussed, keeping in mind the nature and title of the book, was the star element of the entire confabulation.

The event was moderated by Hamza Khan, who is a student of law and has been an active participant in the book discussions organized by Peshawar Circle.
The event’s commencement included a brief introduction of Azad’s personage. This was followed by an intriguing elucidation of and commentary on the events mentioned in the book, by the guest speaker.
The discussion was a smooth flow from one point to the other, and the gravity of the points was handled beautifully by Dr. Syed Hanif. It was a sight to behold and a notion to absorb.

Dr. Hanif’s medium of elucidation was an interestingly commendable one, since he did not solely stick to the lingua franca, but chose to make usage of our national language (Urdu) as well. This beautiful conglomerate of a medium lent an air of inclusivity and academic meliorism to the entire aura of the event. The mention of Gandhi, Nehru, and other leaders was (in all obviousness) a prevalent one. Backgrounds were de-layered, contemporary hassles were also discussed, and the guest speaker made sure to avoid unnecessary digressions (given the nature of the topic’s vastness).

The denouement of the entire discussion was this: ‘Azad was the last person who agreed for partition.’ Questions followed, and answers flowed. The audience members made comments on certain points, and received encouragements, plaudits and feedbacks.
At the end of the talk, Mr. Shafeeq Gigyani urged the audience members to head over to TOOP’s registration corner in order to familiarize themselves with the modus operandi of The Order of Pen.

We saw (and received) people from various academic disciplines and lingual backgrounds interested in entering the domain of writing, E-publishing and public speaking.
TOOP’s founder, Muhammad Noman Saleem, conversed with each personage individually, and encouraged the then present lot of budding writers to be: (i)confident in their written expressions, (ii)prolific in their write-ups, and (iii)eager for animadversions and feedbacks.
May we never cease celebrating art, literature and all those who are (or intend to be) associated with such domains and fields.
