T.S.E: ”Are they drenching in fatigue?”
F.K: ”Yes. Not the physical kind though.”
T.S.E: ”So erm, is it mental then?”
F.K: ”Not that either.”
T.S.E: ”Well then, what is it?”
F.K: ”It is spiritual…They’re spiritually fatigued.”
T.S.E: ”And we were not?”
F.K: ”Oh we sure were! But we wore the fatigue nicely.”
T.S.E: ”YOU THINK?!”…”I cannot help smirk at that!”
F.K: ”I merely opine.”…”You please smirk as much as you will TS.”
T.S.E: ”I mean, don’t get me wrong but, how did we wear it nicely?”
F.K: ”We subtly indulged in the delusion of absolutism, didn’t we?”
T.S.E: ”Sure did.”
F.K: ”You championed ‘Traditionalism’ and I championed ‘Textual Catharsis’, nice epistolary stuff, what times! Isn’t that so?”
T.S.E: ”Sure is!”
F.K: ”And what are they doing?”
T.S.E: ”Well they are tryin-.”
F.K: ”No! Leave ‘Trying’ out for a bit…’Doing’, what are they ‘Doing’?”
T.S.E: ”That is exactly what they are doing. Trying.”
F.K: ”They are doing trying?”
T.S.E: ”Yes! Can you not observe that? They are trying and trying and trying. Every domain. Morning to morning’s cessation. Office to home. Discipline to discipline. Trying and trying and trying. Achieving too. But-”
F.K: ”But the achievings are not satisfying them?” (Much like they didn’t really satisfy us)
T.S.E: ”Affirmative. Their hearts. Souls too. The achievings aren’t sufficient to lend ease to them. Not even the ephemeral kind of ease.”
F.K: ”Well then, that’s their bane.”
T.S.E: ”And their characteristic feature too maybe?”
F.K: ”I don’t think so. Characteristic feature…They’re Post Modern, or perhaps Post-Post-Modern. Their prominent feature must be something very vague. Something very mechanistic, technology centered maybe. Don’t you think?”
T.S.E: ”Let’s go back and sleep for some while ‘Ka. I am dead, wouldn’t want to die more. Throw the discussion at Woolf or someone else would you? The mud must’ve dried by now.”
F.K: ”Sure! I could’ve slept in a wet grave too.”
T.S.E: ”Yes but, we deserve dry graves ‘Ka. Until the next observation my friend!”
F.K: ”Until that, yes. Adieu.”
