The Man Tries

The sun spins
The man sins

The flower wilts
The bird tilts

The cry yearns
The child learns

The wave splashes
The wind lashes

The clouds pour
The echoes roar

The time races
The spirit chases

The light shines
The horse whines

The shrouds tie
The crowds lie

The spirit sighs
The star dies

The memory fades
The footsteps cascade

The oath vows
The will bows

The lightning crackles
The rope shackles

The man weeps

The man weeps—

The soil seeps

The being decays

The thread frays

The breath heaves

The conscious leaves

The man accepts

The man accepts

The world decepts

The heart lurches

The raven perches

The night bellows it’s reign

The effort kneels in vain

The blood dries

The raven cries

The man tries

The man tries
