There is Sulphur in our spirits
A brimstone burning blue
Inward turned and out it burnt
But never, to ashes, turned
There’s a wick that lit forever
Our hopes live on forever
Forever! And free!
Free as one can be
You’re free to choose your lane
In business, make a name
On Facebook, earn your fame
Make art of critical ‘claim
And excel at every game.
A Golden Ratio Body
A Da Vinci smile to frame
Your name’s ‘The Modern Man’
You’re free to choose your lane!
Although…
Till when you shall departure
From ever since you came
It’s always been the same
It’s always been the same
Consistency’s the key, and
You are proud, but it’s a shame
All daytimes are the same
And nighttime, all the same
There’s a plague in our souls
From an organ to another
It spreads like a disease
We’re the functioning deceased!
Our children born the same
And claimed by Death, the same
From the dark of mother’s womb
To the abyss of your tomb
Existence stares at you
With her serpentine hair
And a petrifying Gorgon glare
We’re crippling with confusions here
Diverted with delusions here
(For one thing we do not admit)
We’re scared of disillusionment
It poses difficult questions
But it brings us no conclusions here
Forever! And free!
Free as one can be
Roll this boulder up the hill
It’s a fate, full-circle came
Past, Present, Future- same.
My Existential Angst
Resembles Edvard’s Dream
Misread as a Human Scream
Futility in his watermark
A Nebula head, a Matter Dark
Close to me he draws
With his fearsome gaping jaws
He does not scream
But whispers…
(He whispers! Whispers!)
And it deafens me to madness
“Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter Here”
Where the roadmaps pin to infinity
And wall clocks spin to eternity
Minutes passing by
And soon, the batteries die
But Time won’t stop, it flies
Childhood.
Midlife.
Old age
All this burden of three ages
On the thin shoulders of three needles
And Yet!
In heaven’s name
Every living second is the same!
And thus …
Ravaging with freedom, I sing
Forever! And free!
Free as one can be
Tomorrow the sun will rise the same
And set in the west, the same
.
