The solitude I once cherished
has become the death sentence I regret,
Too much of a good thing.
My companion is laid bare at the foot of
the bed,
Her well-worn pages, the only intimacy I
knew,
But she no longer speaks to me,
Even we have gone our separate ways.
And so,
I stare out these windows for a sign,
An inkling of life,
The world just stares back.
