I feel so tired within my bones
The echos of war haunt me like dark ghosts
But looking in your eyes, you give me hope
And I know we’ll make it, threw the fight, hate, and smoke.
Just let me hold you, so I can comfort you.
I’ll take away your worries, you’ll no longer feel blue.
I’ll hold you close, this is what I’ll do.
Because you give me strength, where it is most due.
I know we’ll make it, because I haven’t lost you.

About the winner:

I’m from the USA, but I’m not from anywhere specific. My dad was in the Army, so I was born in Germany, my family is from Texas, but I’ve traveled to various places such as 6 other countries, as well as two dozen other US States.
In doing this, I’ve seen a lot, I’ve experienced a lot, and I’ve met a lot more people than most. In my travels, I fell for both music, poetry, and literate works of art. Stories showing character growth, complex story arches, and dark stories showing just how much a person can take, until they break.
And that’s what I enjoy writing about most. Overcoming the impossible. Because I believe we’re all meant to do impossible things. It just takes impossible situations, to push us even further than we were willing to go before.
